Free alternative of Endnote. Word 2007 and Jabref. BibTex and Word.
I am using jabref as my major citation manager and it is working great for me. I tried Zotero, but its word plugin didn’t work well in my system. Also, I like jabref GUI and it is easy to group references. As you can find so many sources of information about jabref, I am adding few thing that you may find useful about it.

I was looking for IEEE citation Style in Microsoft Word 2007 bibliography. I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I googled each and every pages in web. Finally I found some ways to achieve part of what I need, and compiled it at one place.

In my daily work, I create a lots of file with slightly different contents and name them like nov_1_file_1, nov_2_file_2 etc. After some weeks, i got confused. Which file have my desired graph, which is final, which needs further correction etc. I think most of the researcher face similar problem. Here is a simple solution for XP users, and its completely free.

Minimize to tray is useful add-on for Thunderbird. I was using this add-on for a while in my XP machine. Recently I have upgrade to Vista, and want to use this add-on. It was installed nicely, but I have encountered a problem. The thunderbird add on was not storing the minimze to tray option. Read the rest of this entry »
